Dr. Rolf Majcen, Legal & Compliance

A lawyer with a thorough knowledge of European financial market laws, Dr. Rolf Majcen last worked as head of the legal department at “ERSTE Sparinvest KAG” and in 2005 joined the management board of FTC, where he is in charge of Legal & Compliance.

Thomas Berger, COO

As Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer he is responsible for administration, finance, and fund administration.

Thomas has been working in the field of Alternative Investments, particularly Managed Futures, for many years, with an emphasis on the operations side of the business.

Prof. Dr. Bernd Scherer, CIO

As Chief Investment Officer, Prof. Dr. Bernd Scherer is responsible for the investment process at FTC Capital. Research & Development, System Programming as well as Trading report to him.

Bernd Scherer combines a profound scholastic background with long lasting practical experience in international asset management. Most recently Dr. Scherer served as Managing Director at Morgan Stanley in London. He is a tenured professor at the EDHEC business school, co-editor of the Oxford Handbook of Computational Asset Management and reviewer at numerous academic journals. The fourth edition of his well known book "Portfolio Construction and Risk Budgeting" was recently published.

Joerg Hammer, General Manager

As Executive General Manager he is responsible for customer advice and consulting for managed futures strategies and alternative investments.

Since May 2008 Joerg Hammer successfully leads the business development of FTC Capital. He also applies his longtime national and international professional experience as portfolio manager and sales promoter for focused workshops.

Mag. Helmut Spitzer, General Manager

Mag. Helmut Spitzer has a broad experience and a thorough knowledge of Alternative Investments. As General Manager his focus is on the development of FTC’s partner business as well as institutional advisory. He graduated in business administration (Mag. rer. soc. oec.) at the Vienna University of Economics.

Professional development: After his employment at Creditanstalt (Advisor Corporate Clients), Helmut Spitzer served ten years as Managing Director at an international managed futures firm.
